Red Dot – a symbol of world-class design excellence – in the hands of Meissen Keramik!

The Red Dot Design Award, often referred to as the "Oscar of Design", is one of the most prestigious distinctions in the fields of industrial design, product design, communication and design concepts. Established in 1954 in Germany, with the first competition held in 1955, the award has since been presented annually by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in three main categories: Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concept.

 

Red Dot Award Ceremony 2025

This year's Red Dot Award: Product Design ceremony took place at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany, where winners from all categories were presented. The Product Design jury consisted of 43 experts from 21 countries, who evaluated entries submitted from over 60 nations worldwide. On 8 July 2025, during the ceremony, this prestigious award was presented to Meissen Keramik for the KONTRA by Meissen Keramik conglomerate shower trays project.

This achievement holds special significance for us, as in the BSB category it is the first award of this kind for both Cersanit SA and Meissen Keramik GmbH.

Winning a Red Dot Award is not only a matter of prestige for a designer or company, but also tangible proof of a well-considered, original and functional design, recognised by global experts.

This exceptional distinction confirms the development direction of the Meissen Keramik brand – world-class design that combines timeless, modern aesthetics, functionality and outstanding workmanship.

 

ARCHITECT@WORK 2025 Trade Fair, Gdańsk

The award-winning shower trays were showcased at the ARCHITECT@WORK 2025 trade fair in Gdańsk, where they attracted considerable interest from architects and designers. The Red Dot Design Award opens up new opportunities for Meissen Keramik to further strengthen its position as a premium brand, enhance cooperation with architects, and build meaningful communication with its audiences.
